3 Months Old...

Jack is 3 months old today! He weighed in this morning at 13.5lbs and 24" long. Brian took the day off and we took a family trip up to Lake George to spend some time together before I go back to work. We were also excited to let Buster run along the doggie beach and swim - celebrating his return to normalcy as a dog post-surgery...it was a great morning :)

Current Happenings:

Jack made a decision on his own just about 2.5 weeks ago to start sleeping through the night – and he has slept through the night every night since then… He will go to sleep around 9:30 and will stay in his crib until close to 7am. He doesn’t wake up crying, he will just be cooing, talking to the ceiling fan or the picture/decoration that is hanging above his crib. He is very very happy and content when we go in to get him, it’s one of our favorite parts of the day J
He gets a bath every night and he LOVES the bath, which makes us LOVE giving him a bath!  We have the baby tub on the counter in his bathroom where there is a mirror the entire length of the counter, he stares in that mirror the entire time.
Jack is starting to explore with open palms these days.  He sees bright colors and pats them with his hands or he will grab on to things and hold on tightly.  I’m not convinced that he is realizing what he is doing just yet but I love watching him discover the world one tiny step at a time.
He still loves his bouncy seat and his swing.  The swing can calm him, soothe him, put him to sleep – just a few weeks ago he couldn’t stand the swing and got pretty ticked off if you tried to leave him there for more than 2 minutes to run to the bathroom.  Now he’ll spend 2 hours in it at a time.
We’ve tried the Bumbo recently - he will spend about 5 minutes in there, trying to figure out the position he is in, but then gets annoyed that he can’t freely kick his legs.
He likes his playmat, especially Mr. Cow who has a mirror on it – he will stare at his reflection for quite a while…
His next doctor appointment isn’t until the end of August, shortly after his 4 month birthday!  Who knows what the next month will bring?!
